Unplug's IRC Chat
CLICK HERE to go straight to the Applet...
...or read on if you're new to this type of chatting.
What to expect and do if you're new to IRC Applets:
The above link will take you to a new page which will load a Sun Microsystems Java Applet. You will get a pop-up about a digital signature, asking if you want to run this application. Click the Run button.
Usually at this point you will also see 1 or 2 warnings from your firewall software show up, possibly asking you to accept connections from a specific web address. Make sure you click Allow (or similar) with these warnings, so your computer can connect to the IRC server.
Once this is done the Chat window should become visible, embedded into this page, and automatically sign you into the server and into our own channel where you can chat with any other Unpluggers present and awake at the time.
From there on you just need to type into the big white bar directly under the channel window to chat. Enjoy!
Any additional information on how to work things can be found by using the Help button at the top, or by asking inside the channel. When you're done chatting, simply click the Disconnect button on the top left. You will then be logged off the server.
Trouble Connecting:
If you can't connect to the server, first look at http://www.pjirc.com/help.php for possible solutions. If that isn't answering your problem, you can post about it in the Unplug forums (Complaints & Suggestions subforum) and we'll try our best to help you.
Additional Info:
Unplug's presence on IRC, the #unplug channel, is located on the UtoNet server irc.utonet.org, but Unplug is in no way associated with UtoNet. Please abide by their rules and behave respectfully to other chatters when moving further out on the server and into other channels. For more information: www.utonet.org
Unplug uses the PJIRC Java-based Webchat Client to connect to UtoNet. Free, Open Source, easy to set-up and use, and highly recommended. For more information: http://www.pjirc.com
