I can see the future!
As some of you may know, I am in IB. If you are in the full IB program, there are a number of internal and external assessments you must complete to receive your diploma. These are typically referred to as the "Seven Layers of Hell." There are only 4 tasks. Yeah. In any event, one of these is the Extended Essay. This 4 000 word nightmare is written by the Grade 12 IB students, and is due on Monday; this essay usually takes several weeks to complete, if you want to actually have some level of quality. Luckily, I am not in the twelfth grade. However, I have a number of friends that are. Some of them haven't slept in days, because they are idiots and started only when they realized that it was due in a week. Now, I know all of this. Sadly enough, I also know that when my time comes, I will do exactly the same thing. IB sleepy :( Also, if this is posted with a white background, I apologise, but I have no idea on how to fix this.

Yeah, the problem is that
Yeah, the problem is that universities actually look at it, and if you do poorly enough, you fail straight out. There are several other assessments due at a similar time, as well, alongside it not just writing 4 000 words, but researched, referenced, oftentimes with physical examples of what you're writing on.
I think I may try to pull something about Moore's Law, or the various bits of chemistry in swimming pools.
